RN Ambulatory - Vascular Medicine

As a Registered Nurse in Cleveland Clinic's Vascular Medicine Department, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while working alongside a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. In this unique outpatient setting, you'll care for patients receiving a wide range of vascular services, including clinical evaluations, wound care and minimally invasive vein procedures. The team performs treatments such as sclerotherapy, laser vein ablations and phlebectomies, all completed using oral anti-anxiety medication without sedation. A caregiver in this position works| 4 x 10-hour shifts| 7:00am - 5:30pm| no weekends and no holidays.   

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.  

• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.  

• Administer medication and treatments.  

• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.  

• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings. 

• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment. 

• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.  

• Cover other nursing roles within the department.  

• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) 

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross 

• In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire 

• One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
