We are seeking a Software Engineer - SME Level to serve as the Automation & Integration Lead supporting a large-scale federal IT program. This role will provide technical leadership across automation, API integration, and AI/ML engineering initiatives, ensuring seamless interoperability between systems and mission partners. The ideal candidate brings deep enterprise IT experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams while driving modernization and integration strategies. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the Automation, Integration, and AI/ML engineering sub-team.

• Coordinate API management, interface maintenance, and system integration activities.
• Oversee test automation strategy and implementation.
• Monitor and track integration health across platforms and environments.
• Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders to ensure successful integrations.
• Provide status updates, risks, and technical recommendations to the Project Manager.
• Guide engineering teams on best practices for automation, integration, and scalable system design.

Skills Required: * Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise information technology.
• Strong experience with automation frameworks, API integration, and enterprise system interoperability.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage cross-functional coordination.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• AWS Solutions Architect
• CompTIA Security+

Preferred: * Experience supporting federal or DoD environments.

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML engineering initiatives.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms and DevSecOps practices.
