In this newly created and high-impact legal role, you'll help shape how CLEAR navigates an increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscape. As Senior Corporate Counsel, Litigation, Regulatory & Compliance, you'll manage commercial and regulatory litigation, oversee corporate and operational compliance, and provide strategic legal guidance across CLEAR’s secure identity business, including its consumer aviation product (CLEAR+), B2B secure identity platform (CLEAR1), and TSA PreCheck enrollment service. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer & Head of Litigation & Regulatory, you'll partner closely with leaders to manage legal and regulatory risk and enable CLEAR's continued growth through practical, business-focused counsel.

What you'll do:

  • Lead commercial, civil, and regulatory disputes from early-stage conflict through resolution, working closely with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
  • Advise on litigation risk and strategy to support informed business decision-making.
  • Drive matters efficiently through negotiation, settlement, or litigation when necessary.
  • Advise on and monitor adherence to applicable laws and regulations affecting CLEAR’s secure identity business, including its aviation, identity verification, and biometric technology offerings.
  • Represent CLEAR in engagements with regulators and government partners as needed in connection with inquiries, disputes, and regulatory matters.
  • Lead the company’s response to regulatory developments and help translate legal requirements into practical operational guidance.
  • Oversee compliance with the Code of Conduct & Ethics and other internal policies by providing practical guidance and legal counsel.
  • Design, implement, and oversee compliance programs, training, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Conduct internal investigations and guide appropriate remediation and reporting.

How you'll measure success:

  • Disputes and regulatory matters are managed strategically and efficiently, with strong outcomes, effective oversight of outside counsel, and appropriate control of legal spend.
  • CLEAR maintains strong compliance with applicable laws, regulations, the Code of Conduct & Ethics, and internal policies through practical, well-implemented compliance programs, training, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Regulatory risks are identified early and translated into clear, actionable guidance that enables the business to innovate and grow responsibly.
  • Internal investigations and sensitive matters are handled promptly, thoroughly, and with sound judgment, maintaining trust with leadership, employees, and regulators.
  • Sought after across the company for providing pragmatic and thoughtful approaches to litigation, regulatory, and compliance matters.

What you're great at:

  • 10+ years of legal experience in litigation, regulatory law, and/or compliance at a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency.
  • Juris Doctor and membership in at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
  • Providing pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice that enables teams to move quickly while managing legal and regulatory risk.
  • Partnering directly with cross-functional teams to identify, minimize, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Managing complex legal matters with independence and sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and drive collaborative solutions.
