Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to join our Ore Technology team! This position will receive functional guidance from Scientists and Principal Investigators.
As a Chemical Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the Titanium Technologies team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a laboratory environment. You will work closely with other engineers and chemists to drive process optimization and new process development through experiments, data interpretation, and literature reviews.
Location: Newark, DE
Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
Term: 5-month assignment between Aug-Dec 2026
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Working with experienced R&D professionals on process technology developmental projects
Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
Lab work including the design, construction, operation, and optimization of lab-scale unit operations including reactors, filters, ovens, mixers, pumps, etc.
Supporting multiple projects with data analysis, data recordkeeping, and data sharing with team members.
Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
Safe handling of chemicals and safe operation of chemical processes
The following is required for this role:
Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Junior or above at time of assignment
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or similar fields
The following is preferred for this role:
3.0 GPA or above
Previous experience (industrial or academic) with the following chemical processes: reaction engineering, thermodynamics, titration, filtration, and distillation.
Experience working with chemicals
Hands-on experience with building laboratory setups
