Sybase Database Administrator

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Sybase databases to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor database performance, perform tuning, and optimize queries for efficiency.
• Manage database security, user roles, and permissions to safeguard sensitive data.
• Perform regular backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning.
• Apply patches, updates, and perform routine database maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot database issues, resolve performance bottlenecks, and ensure data integrity.
• Work with development teams to support database design, schema changes, and deployment activities.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Sybase DBA.
• Strong knowledge of database administration, architecture, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability configurations.
• Proficiency in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving database issues.
• Understanding of security policies, user management, and access control.
• Exposure to hybrid deployment environments and cross-functional IT support.
