Position: Literacy and Numeracy Itinerant Intervention Teacher - Permanent Term Position
Location: St. Mother Teresa, Russell
Salary: As per Collective Agreement
FTE: 1.00
Effective: September 1, 2026 – June 28, 2027
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate;
- Primary/Junior Divisional qualifications
Assets
- Primary and/or Junior Math additional qualifications;
- Reading additional qualifications;
- Empower Reading trained;
- Special education qualifications and/or experience supporting students receiving special education programs and/or services;
- Deep knowledge of the Ontario math and language curriculum;
- Deep knowledge of structured literacy instruction and interventions;
- Extensive knowledge about instruction and pedagogy in literacy and math including high impact instructional practices and intervention strategies;
- Extensive knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting practices in alignment with Growing Success, the Institute for Catholic Education and the Ontario Ministry of Education and Board directives;
- Demonstrated effective leadership and experience in working with Board and school teams, and expertise in the planning and delivery of job-embedded teacher professional development;
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to rural schools across the CDSBEO are required.

Summary
Under the supervision of the School Principal and the Principal of Curriculum and Student Success, the school-based Literacy and Math Intervention Itinerant Teacher will work towards the goals of the CDSBEO Student Achievement Action Plan and Math Achievement Action Plan.
The Intervention
Teacher will assist student learning in the primary and junior divisions.
The Intervention
Teacher will provide in-class facilitation to enhance literacy and math skills and assist classroom teachers to help ensure consistent implementation of effective instructional practices and early intervention strategies. They will also work directly with students requiring additional support, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
