Senior Manager, Category Management – Capital One

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Category Management to join our Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) Team. As a Senior Manager, Category Management you will be responsible for the holistic relationship between Capital One and key third parties, enabling a well‑managed and adaptable supply chain. You will work closely with internal team members establishing and maintaining relationships with internal business customers, account teams and assigned suppliers. This role is essential in the delivery of key cost, risk and performance management‑related efforts for third‑party relationships, in addition to identifying strategic opportunities for growth and greater return on investment.
Key Responsibilities Negotiation: Partner to negotiate contracts and deals for a fast‑paced, motivated business group within Capital One Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Provide problem‑solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value‑generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies or revenue growth). Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for third parties and manage effective governance between Capital One and assigned third parties. Collaboration: Build strong internal relationships with key stakeholders that creates alignment on business strategy and fosters ability to move quickly on desired business outcomes in a well‑managed way. Risk Management: Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third‑party contractual obligations. Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third‑party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures. Process Management: Accountable for policy requirements for all managed third‑party relationships. Plan and lead periodic reviews and assessments of supplier relationships. Supplier Sourcing: Maintain awareness of external marketplace as it relates to your suppliers and perform sourcing activities where appropriate. Coaching and Mentoring: Serve as a people manager, coach and mentor to develop less‑seasoned and experienced Supplier Managers in their development. Basic Qualifications At least 4 years of experience in Supplier Management At least 3 years of experience in Contract Management or Deal Negotiation At least 2 years of experience in Risk or Relationship Management At least 3 years of experience with people leadership Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Relationship Management or Procurement 3+ years of experience in Risk Management 5+ years of experience in Contract Management or Deal Negotiation 3+ years of experience in Operations, Process or Project Management

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Sales Territory: $155,300 – $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
McLean, VA: $170,800 – $194,900 for Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
Richmond, VA: $155,300 – $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
New York, NY: $186,300 – $212,700 for Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
Wilmington, DE: $155,300 – $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
