Project Management Lead - Quality Management System The role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will work a mixture of on‑site and off‑site work based on operational needs. Currently, employees are expected to have an in‑person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement is subject to change.
Employment status: temporary full‑time (Anticipated start date: 15 June 2026, Anticipated end date: 14 January 2028).
Salary: $86,400 – $101,700.
In this role, you will report to the Associate Director, Quality Improvement and serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders, quality teams, and operational units to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with established quality standards. You will lead and manage quality improvement projects from initiation through completion, monitoring progress, preparing reports, and communicating updates to leadership and key stakeholders as required.
Supporting efficiency improvements within established QMS processes, leveraging your strong understanding of applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and your expertise in Design Control and Project Management Life Cycle.
Leverage skills in project quality planning and execution, develop and maintain project Quality Plans, and provide training and guidance to project teams on quality expectations (e.g., change management, quality event management, document management).
Apply skills in quality system integration and application, identify, integrate, and apply core quality elements such as design controls, process controls, cost of quality, and auditing.
Serve as the primary quality point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring resource needs and project quality requirements are met.
Collaborate with project teams and cross‑functional partners to ensure deliverables meet all defined quality and project requirements.
Exercise autonomous decision‑making on quality and compliance issues, influencing and guiding stakeholders toward risk‑based, compliant solutions.
Contribute to Q&RA divisional initiatives, fostering continuous improvement across quality systems and processes.
Support departmental priorities and perform other related duties as required.
Desired Education and Skills
Post‑secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Engineering, Science, Quality Management, or related fields.
5+ years of experience in quality systems, project management, or an equivalent role in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, medical devices, biotechnology, healthcare, or equivalent).
Experience as a project team member in a project management environment working with multiple areas of organization such as supply chain, quality, and other divisions.
Experience and/or formal training in project management, Quality Systems, continuous improvement and design control.
Experience and training in quality principles such as validation, change control, document control process, non‑conformance preferably in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical devices;
experience in blood bank industries is an asset.
Strong ability to conceptualize, analyze, simplify, and communicate complex processes.
Solid knowledge of Quality Management Systems and improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
Effective under pressure with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong project management skills, including risk assessment and stakeholder communication.

What you can expect The role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services office 40% of the time (2 days of the week). This requirement is subject to change based on operational needs.
Work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
The role may require travel on an occasional basis or as needed for in‑person meetings and project commitments.
