Canadian Adventure Charters Inc. (CAC) is seeking an exceptional executive leader to serve as Director of Public Relations, Government Affairs & Indigenous Relations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, and Board of Directors, this executive will provide strategic leadership across Government Affairs, Indigenous Relations, Public Policy, Strategic Communications, Corporate Affairs, Stakeholder Engagement, and Media Relations throughout Canada and internationally.

As one of CAC's principal ambassadors, this individual will represent the organization before municipal, provincial, territorial, federal, and Indigenous governments, regulatory agencies, investors, strategic partners, international organizations, media, and industry leaders.

Executive Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide executive leadership by:

• Leading all Government Affairs, Public Policy, Indigenous Relations, Corporate Communications, Strategic Communications, and Public Relations initiatives.
• Developing and maintaining executive-level relationships with municipal, provincial, territorial, federal, Indigenous, and international governments.
• Building trusted partnerships with First Nations, Inuit, Innu, Métis, and Indigenous organizations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, Northern Canada, and the Canadian Arctic.
• Serving as an official spokesperson and senior representative for Canadian Adventure Charters Inc.
• Leading media relations, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, reputation management, issues management, and crisis communications.
• Supporting major national and international initiatives involving marine research, Arctic exploration, conservation, tourism, transportation, climate science, infrastructure, innovation, and economic development.
• Representing CAC during government consultations, international trade missions, diplomatic engagements, policy forums, conferences, and executive-level stakeholder meetings worldwide.
• Providing strategic advice to executive leadership and the Board of Directors on government policy, regulatory affairs, Indigenous engagement, corporate reputation, and long-term stakeholder strategy.

Executive Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Graduate degree, Juris Doctor (JD), MBA, MPA, or Public Policy credentials considered a significant asset.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible executive leadership experience in Government Affairs, Public Policy, Indigenous Relations, Strategic Communications, Corporate Affairs, Political Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, or Public Relations.
• Extensive executive leadership experience within Transport Canada involving the marine transportation sector, civil aviation, and major port, harbour, marine terminal, or mega-port infrastructure development. Experience leading or advising on nationally significant transportation infrastructure initiatives, regulatory frameworks, and federal approval processes will be considered a significant asset.
• Extensive experience working with provincial, territorial, and federal governments, particularly within Newfoundland and Labrador, Atlantic Canada, Ottawa, and Northern Canada.
• Demonstrated success building strategic relationships with governments, Indigenous leadership, regulatory agencies, industry associations, investors, media organizations, and international stakeholders.
• Exceptional executive communication, negotiation, diplomacy, government relations, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Executive Leadership Opportunity

The successful candidate will become a key member of Canadian Adventure Charters Inc.'s executive leadership team and will play a central role in advancing the organization's long-term vision.

This executive will help position CAC as a globally recognized leader in expedition travel, ocean exploration, Arctic development, scientific research, environmental conservation, transportation innovation, Indigenous collaboration, and international strategic partnerships.

Working closely with executive leadership, government officials, Indigenous partners, investors, regulators, and international organizations, this individual will help guide transformational projects that support Canada's Blue Economy while creating meaningful economic, environmental, scientific, and social benefits.
