Job Description
CAMH is seeking a casual Research Analyst (RA), reporting to the Senior Scientists and Research Manager of the Institute of Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR). IMHPR is a key driver in building the knowledge base for policy decisions, development of mental health interventions, and health system improvement. The RA will support a clinical Non-Therapeutic Research on Cannabis (NTRC) study, which is a randomized, double blind human laboratory study evaluating THC self-titration in cannabis users when vaping. The RA will work closely with the other Research Analysts, Research Coordinator, Registered Nurse, and other team members to support data collection. The primary responsibilities include recruitment, pre-screening, blood sample processing, collecting cognitive and mood assessments, conducting mental status and psychiatric screenings, and taking vital signs. Other research responsibilities include electronic data collection and documentation, supporting quality assurance activities and ethics submissions, and ongoing support, training, and communication with other research team members.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences in combination with at least one (1) year of related research experience. Previous cannabis research experience and working on NRTC studies is required. Clinical research education and training are assets.
Knowledge of ethical conduct of research in human participants, including ICH-GCP guidelines, Health Canada Food & Drug Regulations, and TCPS2 is required.
Experience directly interacting with participants (e.g., screening, recruitment, data collection, clinical assessments, etc.) is required.
Experience with cannabis research and working on NTRC studies is required
Experience conducting cognitive assessments (e.g., CANTAB) and psychiatric evaluations (e.g., the Structured Clinical Interview for the DSM-5) is required
Experience handling and processing blood samples (e.g., labeling, centrifugation, storage, etc) is required
Demonstrated experience developing and administering data collection tools using REDCap is required
Knowledge and understanding of research design, data collection methods, strategies for data management, and data analysis
Experience supporting research ethics applications and quality assurance procedures
Experience conducting literature reviews, knowledge of university library databases and reference management software, writing, and data analyses are assets
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and determined attitude towards ensuring accuracy and integrity
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals, teams, and people with lived/living experience within the community.
Salary Range: $27.95 - $37.28 per hour
