Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day analysis of laboratory samples by wet chemistry and instrumentation methods.

This is a two-year temporary position.

In this role, you will:

  • Participant in quality control activities within the lab operations and assist with corrective and preventative action planning and implementation.
  • Perform maintenance of analytical equipment in the lab, mill and mine, and provide coverage to the McArthur River satellite lab as needed.

Required:

  • chemical technology diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemistry;
  • up to three years of relevant work experience;
  • equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
  • working knowledge of chemical laboratory principles and procedures;
  • effective organizational and analytical skills;
  • solid team player with a willingness to learn;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision;
  • coachable and receptive to feedback, maintains a positive attitude, works diligently, and adheres to safe work practices;
  • ability to lift and maneuver up to 40 lbs; and
  • work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Recommended:

  • experience with an x-ray fluorescent spectrometer;
  • experience with Microsoft Office suite and SAP; and
  • working knowledge of LIMS.
