IT Security Support Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Support Engineer to provide hands-on infrastructure and system support within a mission-critical enterprise environment. This role requires strong expertise in Windows systems, Nutanix infrastructure, security practices, and third-party software integrations, combined with a customer-focused support mindset.

The ideal candidate will support server, storage, virtualization, and security operations while ensuring system stability, performance optimization, and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provided IT infrastructure and security support across servers, storage, and enterprise systems
• Manage and support Nutanix clusters including darksite patching and hypervisor components
• Administer Windows Server/Desktop environments, users, services, and file systems
• Manage Active Directory, GPO configuration, backup, and recovery
• Support third-party software integrations and enterprise applications
• Monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and resolve bottlenecks
• Perform patching, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance
• Execute disaster recovery, backup, and restore procedures
• Troubleshoot networking issues including DHCP, DNS, routing, and firewall configurations
• Automate operational tasks using scripting tools
• Provide end-user and system support with strong customer service standards
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and solutions
• Participate in off-hours support, on-call rotation, and emergency response

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT Support / Infrastructure Support
• Hands-on experience managing Nutanix environments
• Strong knowledge of:
• Windows Server & Desktop administration
• Active Directory & Group Policy
• RAID storage configurations
• Networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall)
• Security concepts (ACLs, Encryption, Access Control)
• Scripting experience: PowerShell, Bash, KSH, or Perl
• Experience with disaster recovery, backup, and patch management
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred)

Nice to Have

• Experience with application server software
• Knowledge of security platforms such as Prowatch or Genetec
• Experience supporting multiple hypervisors
• Enterprise monitoring and optimization experience
