Associate Financial Auditor
Location: Fort Meade, MD or Springfield, VA
Work Type: On-site (5 days/week in secure facility)
Clearance: TS/SCI (Polygraph preferred)
Overview
We are hiring a Financial Auditor to lead and execute federal financial statement audits for intelligence community clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and experience operating in highly secure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit engagements and oversee audit staff in execution of financial statement audits
- Review and analyze complex financial data, internal controls, and compliance frameworks
- Ensure audit work aligns with federal standards (e.g., GAO, OMB, FASAB)
- Develop audit strategies, risk assessments, and testing approaches
- Review workpapers and provide guidance/mentorship to junior staff
- Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
- Coordinate with client personnel in classified environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
- 3–6 years of audit experience (federal audit strongly preferred)
- Prior experience leading audit tasks or small teams
- Strong knowledge of federal financial regulations and audit methodologies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work on-site full-time in a SCIF
Clearance Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance required
- Full Scope Polygraph highly preferred
- CI Polygraph or TS/SCI without poly may be considered with sponsorship pathway
