Job Description

## About This Opportunity

As a Cyber Data Analytics Engineer, you'll design, build, and maintain the enterprise environment for collecting, storing, and displaying data that supports cybersecurity efforts. You'll work with both on-premise and cloud systems, managing various software products to collect log data from multiple government agencies in compliance with policies, ensuring it's stored for easy retrieval.

This is a full-time position based in Springfield, VA, with up to 10% local travel required. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required to start.

## What You'll Do

Your day-to-day work involves helping customers send their log data through one or more enterprise networks to specific destinations. You'll design, build, and maintain log data collection pipelines using products like Cribl, Arc. Sight, Kafka, various AWS products, Linux servers, and Microsoft servers. Managing log data environments using tools such as Elasticsearch or Sentinel falls within your purview as well.

Research and identify the physical or cloud resources needed to optimize support for specific Linux systems or hosted products. Troubleshooting is a core part of the role—you'll address any data flow issues from the SIEM data collection point to the SIEM or designated long-term storage destination, as well as troubleshoot data display or data storage issues within the SIEM environment. When problems arise, you'll perform root cause analysis for complex issues and ensure product uptime.

Maintaining appropriate application, system, and product versions according to applicable agency enterprise policies is essential. You'll develop or improve processes using tools like scripts, Ansible, or AWS products, and comprehensive documentation of tasks, processes, changes, and product statuses is expected. Training your team on tasks and products is also part of your responsibilities.

Customer interaction is constant throughout all project phases. You'll be aware of customer needs, respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner, and demonstrate attention to detail in everything you do. Some on-call availability including nights and weekends is required, though this occurs very rarely.

## What You Need to Succeed

You must have at least 2+ years of enterprise LAN networking experience and 3+ years of Unix/Linux Server Administration or similar experience. Windows Server Administration experience of 2+ years and hands-on AWS experience of 2+ years are required.

Certifications matter for this role—you'll need DOD 8570 IAT Level II and CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications (these should be obtained within 120 days of hire). An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with experience working on US Government contracts is mandatory.

Beyond technical skills, strong oral and written communications are essential, along with good listening and comprehension abilities. You should be motivated, detail-oriented, teachable, willing to share knowledge, and able to manage time well. Understanding the importance of documentation and the ability to work effectively with a team are non-negotiable.

## Nice-to

  • Have Skills

While not required, experience with WAN networking, Elasticsearch, Sentinel, Kafka, Arc. Sight, Kubernetes, Cribl, or Ansible would strengthen your candidacy. Familiarity with scripting languages like YAML, Python, Bash, and/or Ruby is valuable, as is experience using version control tools such as Git.

## Compensation and Benefits

The proposed salary range for this position is $82,100–$172,400 annually. Factors influencing final salary include geographic location, federal government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.

CACI offers comprehensive benefits designed to support you and your families, including healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, and family support benefits. You'll have access to continuing education opportunities and a unique flexible time off benefit that allows you to balance quality work with your personal life. A culture of integrity, an environment of trust, and a focus on continuous growth define the CACI experience—you'll be part of a high-performing group dedicated to the nation's most critical missions.
