Job description
BryceTech is seeking a Software Test Engineer IV to support the U.S. Army's Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Support to Command and Control (CSC2) System of Systems (SoS) program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Working closely with Government Test and Evaluation (T&E) leadership, this individual will provide technical leadership for software testing, interoperability, cybersecurity, and Agile software delivery across multiple Joint Service capabilities. The successful candidate will help ensure modern software solutions are thoroughly tested, integrated, and delivered using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies while supporting critical Department of Defense modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software test engineering activities across multiple CSC2 System of Systems capabilities, ensuring software functionality, interoperability, and mission readiness
- Collaborate with Government Test and Evaluation leadership to plan, coordinate, and execute software testing efforts across multiple programs
- Develop, maintain, and continuously update software test, cybersecurity, and interoperability activities within Agile Roadmaps and Capability Release Plans
- Manage software testing schedules, sprint planning activities, and program milestones using Agile Lifecycle Management tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence
- Generate executive dashboards, performance metrics, reports, and briefing materials using data from Agile Lifecycle Management tools
- Identify, monitor, and optimize software delivery critical paths from development through production deployment while integrating automated testing and cybersecurity milestones
- Develop technical performance specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), application programming interface (API) documentation, and open architecture requirements supporting integration with external systems
- Design and maintain automated traceability and software test frameworks within DevSecOps pipelines to ensure alignment between software requirements, architecture, cybersecurity controls, and testing activities
- Develop and execute software test plans, automated test procedures, and cybersecurity validation activities supporting acquisition, testing, and product support strategies
- Support software release readiness reviews, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile technical reviews
- Perform technical trade studies evaluating cost, schedule, performance, interoperability, and cybersecurity risks to optimize software capabilities
- Identify and communicate software development risks, schedule impacts, and configuration management concerns throughout the software lifecycle
- Assess contractor software development activities and provide independent recommendations regarding software engineering, testing, cybersecurity, architecture, and overall program execution
- Review software, cybersecurity, interoperability, and testing deliverables including CDRLs and ADRLs while providing recommendations to Government program leadership
- Support Program Officers, Assistant Program Managers, systems engineering, and test organizations across both acquisition programs and prototype efforts
- Plan, facilitate, and document Integrated Product Team meetings, technical working groups, and other program meetings, including agendas, meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up tracking
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical discipline with at least eight years of relevant experience OR
- bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related discipline with at least ten years of relevant experience
- Experience supporting Agile software development and DevSecOps environments
- Experience planning, managing, or implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated software testing
- Experience with modern software architectures including cloud-native and microservices-based applications
- Proficiency with Agile Lifecycle Management and DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience developing software testing strategies, automated test frameworks, and continuous Test & Evaluation processes
- Experience preparing technical documentation including interface control documents (ICDs), APIs, software requirements, or systems engineering artifacts
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense software acquisition programs
- Knowledge of DoDI 5000.87 Software Acquisition Pathway
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD cybersecurity requirements
- Experience supporting CBRN, command and control, or Joint Service software development programs
- Experience with automated testing, interoperability testing, and DevSecOps pipeline automation
- Experience supporting software-intensive acquisition programs within an Agile environment
