Position Overview:

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will manage production-related functions involved within the facility. In addition, this role will be responsible for all the upkeep and maintenance of the building and grounds. Support and connect with all functions of the manufacturing operation (safety, quality, engineering, materials & purchasing) as needed to support the continuous operation of the facility.  Scheduling preventative maintenance work and managing electrical journeyman and a variety of support technicians.  Daily tasks can range from allocating maintenance resources, assisting in trouble shooting machines or automation, implementing preventative or predictive maintenance procedures and assist in creating and updating equipment PMs.

Apply continuous improvement methodology to achieve goals and implement all activities across departments. Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions through listening, engaging with employees and problem solving.

You will consistently learn, adapt, and improve processes to support operations in a fast-paced environment. This position is onsite.

Essential Functions:

  • Support safety initiatives and improvement of safety metrics through culture
  • Manage performance budgets to include facilities, production and maintenance operations
  • Manage production operations utilizing continuous improvement
  • Reduce product costs through productivity and quality improvements
  • Implement changes or systems for new products and product quality
  • Provide leadership for production operations and mentor / develop supervisors and team members
  • Identify issues, gather input from team members and solve problems with recommendations and solutions.
  • Maintain final product quality standards and facilitate implementation of improved quality standards
  • Provide appropriate training to plant personnel to ensure their continued development
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to direct team
  • Communicate information about departmental, facility and company events, changes, activities, policies, news, and updates to Supervisors, Group Leads, and team members
  • Ensure a positive approach to employee relations for all employees
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with employees, leads and support staff
  • Build rapport and influence others in a positive manner
  • Administer all policies and procedures as established fairly and consistently
  • Lead by example; coach and mentor all assigned employees
  • Review and approve workmanship performed by maintenance employees 
  • Develop training plans for maintenance employees and analyze employees’ ability to perform at rated capacity 
  • Research and order materials or services required for equipment repairs, installations or building and grounds 
  • Analyze equipment, building or grounds problems and schedules corrections as required 
  • Coordinate machinery maintenance work to provide trouble-free operation and eliminate down time 
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company regulations relating to safety factors for employees and equipment 
  • Reviews and approves hours worked in timekeeping system 
  • Work independently to make decisions to support production and equipment up-time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or technology related program with 5 - 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including previous supervisory responsibility
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatics and electronics processes and equipment                      
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) experience 
  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques, schematics, and part specifications 
  • Strong employee relations management experience with the ability to coach, direct, and develop employees 
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures with strong record keeping skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate team members 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products  
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily tasks and ensure all responsibilities are completed accurately and on time

Working Conditions 

  • Main work area is an office, with as-needed trips to the production floor to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Mix between office and production floor, variance is driven by operational needs 
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes with metatarsal guards always required when on the production floor 
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment and settings, such as noise and heat generated from machinery, moving vehicles, material handling equipment, etc.) 
  • Light to medium lifting as needed without use of lifting equipment (30 lbs.) 
  • Physical requirements are standing, bending, sitting, typing, and stooping  

The anticipated pay range for this position is 103,200 – 165,500 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job related knowledge and/or skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. 

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
