Introduction
Brunel is currently seeking an Accounting Clerk (Accounts Receivable / Credit Analyst) for a leading global pharmaceutical organization in St-Laurent, Quebec. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in accounts receivable, collections, reconciliations, and customer account management. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting credit and collection activities while partnering closely with customer service, commercial teams, and business process outsourcing partners.
This is a 12 months full-time, with potential extension based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Credit & Collections
- Manage collections activities and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Process customer credit card refunds accurately and timely.
- Prepare journal entries related to netting and bad debt write-offs as required.
- Perform cash application and netting activities for large retailers and customers.
- Access customer portals to investigate and explain deductions.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Supervisor with collection efforts and account follow-up.
- Assist in resolving customer credit issues and payment disputes.
- Initiate process improvement opportunities and support quality reviews to enhance productivity.
- Serve as backup for OTC deduction reporting and bank remittance preparation.
- Support customer master data maintenance and updates when required.
Account Management
- Reconcile assigned customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Commercial teams, and external partners to ensure timely resolution of customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support month-end activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, or Accounting.
- Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AR processes.
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience with customer reconciliations, cash applications, and deduction management.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
- SAP and large corporate/shared services experience are considered strong assets.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
