BrightAI is a high-growth Physical-AI company transforming how businesses interact with the physical world through intelligent automation. We are building a cutting-edge AI platform that processes visual, spatial, and temporal data across billions of real-world events—from edge devices and mobile sensors to large-scale cloud systems.
We’re seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer (Architect) eager to take on the challenges of building the next generation of cloud-native applications and services in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies like drones, robots, industrial machinery, low-power devices packed full of sensors all communicating with cloud services. You’ll help architect and scale systems capable of processing hundreds of millions of events per day. In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on the design, scalability, and performance of our cloud platform, collaborating closely with world-class engineers as we continue to grow and innovate.
Responsibilities
- Work with developers, product managers and designers to guide and make technical decisions throughout the development process
- Design and develop high quality, secure, performant cloud APIs that service mobile, web, and edge computing devices
- Prototype unproven concepts to inform and optimize the final implementations
- Automate everything possible. Leverages CI/CD to automate repeatable tasks and quality checks
- Build tools and support for teams to self-manage in an owner-operator model
- Work with cloud, mobile and edge teams to diagnose and resolve issues
Skills and Expertise
- Passionate for continuous learning and understanding things in and around cloud development
- Highly experienced building robust, well-documented, secure, well testing APIs and cloud services
- Experience with Docker container development and hosting
- 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies and languages (Python, Golang)
- AWS cloud experience using EKS/ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, and Snowflake
- Experience building event driven architectures at high scale
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Experience with high availability deployment across many regions and availability zones
- Experience with SumoLogic, DataDog, CloudWatch or similar tools for observability
- Deep experience with Git, pull request and code reviews as well as Jira for software development lifecycle.
- Able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative and iterative development environment
- Able to lead and define cloud initiatives and distill technical requirements from high-level product use cases to production-ready implementations
- Experience establishing, promoting and ensuring best practices in cloud codebases including common architectures and standardized unit testing
- Experience building reusable libraries, SDK’s and shared components
- Intricate knowledge of building and managing web services using REST and OpenAPI
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

- Experience working with embedded hardware devices

- Experience with growing large teams and can describe the issues that arise with growth
