HR Hiring Office Supervisor & Classroom Programs Lead
The Continuing Education (CE) HR Hiring Office Supervisor & Classroom Programs Lead oversees the daily HR operations of the CE Hiring Office and serves as a key member of the CE Human Resources Center of Expertise. This role supervises Operations Specialists, oversees hiring, onboarding, compliance, and customer service, and supports Classroom Programs including Evening Classes, Salt Lake Center, BYU Online, and the English Language Center.
What you'll do in this position:
• Supervise HR Operations Specialists through coaching, scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Lead HR operations including Workday support, Form I-9 compliance, fingerprinting, ACA reporting, and HR inquiries.
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, personnel actions, and payroll coordination for CE staff and student employees.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex HR issues while recommending process and policy improvements.
• Partner with CE leadership, HR, and IT to support Classroom and Online HR operations and system enhancements.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
• A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
• Bachelor’s degree OR 3 years of professional management experience including human resources, payroll processing and reconciliation, accounting, or related bookkeeping functions OR relevant combination of education and experience.
• Strong supervisory, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of employment law, HR operations, payroll, and confidentiality.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to use Workday.
Preferred
• Master's degree.
• SHRM certification.
• Five years of HR, payroll, accounting, or related experience.
- Familiarity with university operations, such as hiring, payroll, and part-time employee contracting.
- Previous training with data entry and university ERP system for HR/payroll.

Pay Grade: 52
Typical Starting Pay: $65,500 - $84,500
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
