In This Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to support the collection, integration, and analysis of operational technology (OT) and infrastructure data across large-scale, mission-critical facilities. This role will focus on extracting data from building management, automation, monitoring, and other vendor platforms, transforming and normalizing data into standardized schemas, and integrating it into enterprise analytics and telemetry platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ETL processes, data engineering, Kusto, SQL, Microsoft analytics technologies, and automation tools, with the ability to develop scalable data pipelines, troubleshoot data collection challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve data visibility, compliance tracking, and operational reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data architectures and schemas to support data ingestion from multiple operational and infrastructure systems.
  • Develop and maintain automated ETL/ELT processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse data sources.
  • Build and support API integrations, database queries, scripting solutions, and file-parsing methods to acquire device inventory and configuration-state data.
  • Normalize and standardize data across various platforms and vendor applications into a common data model.
  • Integrate data into enterprise telemetry, monitoring, reporting, and analytics platforms.
  • Design and optimize data pipelines to support compliance monitoring, change tracking, and operational analytics.
  • Implement and maintain moderately complex logical and physical database designs.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using real-world operational datasets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production data collection, integration, and quality issues.
  • Develop technical documentation, data schemas, interface specifications, and telemetry requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to gather requirements and support project delivery.
  • Participate in project planning, design discussions, and weekly status reviews to track progress, risks, and blockers.
  • Support ongoing enhancements as new systems, applications, and data requirements are introduced.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft analytics and data platform technologies.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Kusto Query Language (KQL)
    • Microsoft SQL Server / SQL development
    • ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development
    • Power Apps and/or Power Automate
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and integration from multiple source systems.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and database design.
  • Experience building and supporting automated data flows and telemetry pipelines.
  • Experience developing moderately complex data visualizations and reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with APIs, scripting, database queries, and structured data formats.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern cloud-based analytics and data engineering platforms, including:
    • Azure Fabric
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Azure Databricks
  • Experience working with large-scale data environments and enterprise telemetry systems.
  • Experience supporting operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), building automation systems (BAS), building management systems (BMS), electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), or similar environments.
  • Strong scripting experience, including PowerShell or comparable automation technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based data integration, orchestration, and monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with compliance monitoring, configuration management, and change-tracking data use cases.
  • Experience implementing scalable data architectures and performance optimization techniques.

Salary Range 

At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $31 to $34.62 USD/Hourly. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
