Banquet Set Up Person

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Banquet Set Up Person to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our event operations, ensuring that every banquet and convention function is set up for success. You will work closely with our service team to create exceptional experiences for our guests by meticulously preparing banquet facilities, managing equipment, and maintaining the highest standards of organization and cleanliness. This position offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your efficiency and attention to detail directly impact guest satisfaction.

• Set up and break down tables, chairs, staging, podiums, dance floors, trash cans, and other banquet equipment for a variety of functions and events
• Read, comprehend, and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to ensure accurate room configurations and setup specifications
• Maintain banquet areas in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition throughout all events and transitions
• Inspect and stock all supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels and restocking necessary items in a timely manner
• Collaborate with service personnel and event coordinators to provide high-quality service and seamless event execution
• Operate and maintain all assigned equipment, including chafing dishes, hot boxes, and various staging materials, in a safe and effective manner
• Anticipate guest and team member needs and respond with a sense of urgency and professionalism
• Adhere to all Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor with guests and team members, offering assistance and support whenever needed
• Complete opening, closing, and other assigned duties as directed by management
• Maintain a well-groomed, neat, and clean appearance at all times
• Demonstrate resilience and flexibility when working in varying crowd levels, noise conditions, and high-volume business periods
• Perform all duties in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent execution of organizational standards

**Required Skills & Abilities:**

• Proficiency in setting up events by following Banquet Event Orders (BEO)
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to balance and carry large trays with multiple covers
• Effective communication skills in English with customers and all levels of employees
• Attention to detail and commitment to sanitation and safety standards
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work harmoniously with coworkers
• Proficiency in using banquet equipment, including chafing dishes, hot boxes, tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, podiums, and trash cans

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Experience in a high-volume event or convention center
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service
• Experience coordinating with multiple departments during simultaneous events
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to review and comprehend necessary documentation and instructions
