POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient.

Position: Certified Nursing Assistant       

Department: Geri Psych Seton 7 West

Schedule: 32 Hours, Evenings

Location: BMC South

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse.
  • Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital's values and mission into his/her performance of job duties.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

A High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: Must possess a minimum of one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or be a matriculating student in a nursing program and have completed the "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or show proof of enrollment in accredited nursing school and completion of the courses "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II."

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients is required.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care.
  • Must possess the skills to be compassionate, empathetic and responsive to the needs of a variety of patients.
  • Software/Hardware: Computer experience is preferred. Compensation Range:

$18.15- $26.97
