Job Description : Senior Product Quality Engineer

As a Senior Product Quality Engineer at Boston Dynamics, you will join our Operations team to ensure our customers receive robots that are made to the highest standards. You will work alongside our Supply Quality Engineers, Product/Design Engineers and Operations support team to ensure that our products meet or exceed quality expectations. You will be responsible for developing the production standards for our products by establishing quality control methods and systems and ensuring quality requirements are clear. You will solve complex quality challenges, acting as a key technical resource for cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle. To be successful in this role, you must be inquisitive and thrive on solving problems, have excellent communication skills and be willing to take on an ever-changing list of tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Implement quality assurance activities including inspection planning, control plans, and test procedures to ensure conformance to specifications and standards

Analyze manufacturing and quality data (e.g., defect rates, yield performance) to identify trends, support investigations, and recommend improvements

Collaborate with Design Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Test Engineers and the Operations Team to ensure that quality standards are met

Lead root cause, corrective action and preventive action investigations cross functionally

Implement resolution of product quality issues in sustaining and across multiple disciplines of the business (including design, supply chain, production and service)

Plan and lead process qualifications generating clear and concise plans and reports as a result of new product releases and sustaining change

Provide support to the MRB process to ensure effective root cause/corrective action and prompt and accurate disposition for nonconforming material

Implement methods to inspect and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment

Assist with the onboarding and training of inspectors in quality control processes and tools

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering or other Engineering discipline

2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance or engineering, including project leadership in high-tech environments

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and convert them into the quality control plans

Ability to execute product and process qualifications

Experience understanding product issues and how to adequately get them resolved

Able to translate complex quality data into actionable insights that influence product and process decisions

Preferred Skills

Experience in a manufacturing or quality function in an ISO 9001 environment

Prior experience developing processes and procedures

Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is between $80,639.44 to $110,879.23 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
