Today, Bose Corporation is entering an exciting new era. Across multiple global Business Units and Global Functions, we are shaping the future of audio technology, automotive, luxury, and premium experiences. We invite you to join us in this transformation. We are looking for a hands-on DSP engineer who is interested in applying DSP design techniques in a production environment. The high-volume production environment presents unique learning opportunities to explore DSP algorithm development, implementation and deployment.
DSP Engineer Role:
Our DSP engineers work in cross-disciplinary teams and develop a wide array of signal processing algorithms used to improve our products. You will have the opportunity to work with and improve upon a variety of exciting technologies like audio signal processing, microphone arrays, and speech processing. Because our teams are small, we are looking for self-directed, collaborative, and flexible candidates who can wear several hats.
This position is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter who wants to make a significant impact on the future of our product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test algorithms to solve technical challenges for new In-The-Home or portable products.
- Demonstrate and deliver new benefits for our customers using innovative technologies and novel applications of technologies like Bluetooth® audio, Voice Assistants, Audio Virtualization, 3D spatial Audio and Active Noise Reduction.
- Work with Acoustics and Electrical Engineering teams to tune our products for best audio performance.
- Help take on the responsibility of moving a product through all the phases of development, from exploration all the way to production.
Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a large subset of the following characteristics:
- Demonstrated expertise in real-time embedded DSP implementation in constrained target platforms for consumer products.
- Demonstrated experience in audio and speech processing such as AEC, noise reduction, speech enhancement, mic array processing or 3D audio.
- Exposure to acoustics and acoustic measurements.
- Experience with basic audio lab equipment as well as knowledge and exposure to basic hardware design.
- Know one or more high-level languages like C, C++, Python or Matlab.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate 3rd party algorithms and perform "make vs. buy" analysis.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex technical issues with experts in other fields.
- Experience with Bluetooth® audio products and an understanding of their advantages and limitations.
- Experience with or understanding of Acoustic Transducers such as microphones and drivers
Education:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other Signal Processing related degree
Minimum experience required:
- MS degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
