Job description
Operate press machine to fabricate specified sheet metal parts within very close tolerances. Inspect parts, operate material transfer system and report discrepancies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
In addition to the duties and/or responsibilities of Machine Operator I, perform the following:
Work Safe!
Basic computer operating skills.
Obtain blue print from MES.
Verify its information.
Work from blue prints.
Check every twenith part for correctness to check part and or print.
Enter yield into MES and production log at their machine, 5S area.
Auto Shear:
Set dials on control console for automatic shears, such as number of increments, increment feed and clamp position.
Twelve Foot Shear:
Perform calculations to determine the blade position. Set back gauge position and material feed clamps on manual shear. Make necessary adjustments. Feed part into machine. Run two machines simultaneously as required. Inspect parts to drawings or set-up person’s first specification piece, every 20 pieces. Record production in MES and on the production log including machine downtime. Maintain machine, equipment and an orderly work area, 5S area.
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
3. Use of decimals, fractions and scales.
4. Complete in plant Brazer training course (should brazing be required for assigned job).
5. On job training.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Very repetitive work, continuous standing, frequent walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carry of heavy and/or bulk part required. Weight amounts may vary from 5 pounds to 50 pounds, any amount over 50 pounds requires physical or mechanical help. Arm strength and coordination required for use of brazing and other hand held tools. Repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Rotating of upper body to lift and position parts on coils or brazing line. Continuous visual and some close mental attention to details involved in assembling sub-assembly or complete coil to blueprint specifications.
