Embedded Software Engineer The Opportunity:

As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We’re looking for an experienced embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients’ most important mission-forward challenges.

As a senior embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you’ll write, test, and edit code in support of the team’s overall results. You’ll expand your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You’ll work with other team leaders to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you’re creating is secure.

You Have

3+ years of experience with embedded systems development

3+ years of experience with Python

Experience with developing small form factor, low Size, Weight, and Power (SWAP) hardware, including Qualcomm Snapdragon, NVIDA Jetson Xavier, or Orin

Experience with Agile software development methodologies

Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery of software with GitLab and Docker

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering

Nice If You Have

3+ years of experience with C, C++, C#, Rust, JavaScript, PHP, or Perl

Experience with NAND, eMMC, NOR, or SPI flash interfaces or USB, UART, I2C, or SPI Protocols

Experience with reverse engineering ARM-based embedded systems

Experience in flash error correction code (ECC), flash translation layer (FTL), and file system reverse engineering

Experience with providing offline mirrors, including Apt, Yum, Python PIP, CPAN to support software development activities on an air-gapped network

Experience with configuring and programming field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chips and designing and developing software for FPGA applications

Experience with providing full-stack web development support

Experience with deploying microservices built on Flask

Experience with technical team leadership
