We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join our growing digital engineering and DevOps team.

In this role, you will design, implement, and operate centralized, monitoring, search, and observability platforms using the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack, AWS, supporting enterprise-scale applications in an agile environment.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in ELK stack, backend services, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices, enabling proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across distributed systems.

Exposure to PLM / Teamcenter environments is a strong plus but not mandatory.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain centralized logging and monitoring solutions using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Implement log ingestion, parsing, enrichment, and transformation using Logstash, Grok, and Ruby
• Design and optimize Elasticsearch indices, mappings, and queries for efficient search and analytics
• Develop and maintain Kibana dashboards and Vega visualizations for:
• Application health
• System performance
• Operational and business insights
• Configure alerts and monitoring rules to proactively detect application, integration, and infrastructure issues
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git/GitHub, and Python
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams on:
• Dockerized deployments
• Kubernetes-based platforms
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS)
• Perform L2/L3 production support, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning
• Ensure compliance with BMW Agile Working Model

What should you bring along

Expected skill Sets and experience that the candidates should bring along.

• Strong hands-on experience with centralized logging and monitoring platforms, especially the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Proven ability to design and implement log ingestion, parsing, and transformation pipelines using Logstash, Grok, and Ruby
• Solid experience in writing and optimizing Elasticsearch queries, indices, and mappings
• Expertise in building Kibana dashboards and Vega visualizations for system health, performance monitoring, and analytics
• Experience configuring alerts and monitoring rules for proactive incident detection
• Strong backend development skills using Java and Spring / Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs (Swagger / Open API knowledge preferred)
• Good experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git/GitHub, and Python
• Practical knowledge of Docker and exposure to Kubernetes-based deployments
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) including CloudWatch, IAM, EC2, S3, and CloudFormation
• Experience working with databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, or MySQL
• Understanding of API security standards including OIDC, OAuth2, and SAML
• Familiarity with web and integration technologies such as XML, JSON, HTML, CSS
