Qualification:

Diploma / Equivalent Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience in automobile industry (Sheet Metal)

03–05 Years (Mandatory)

Salary:

₹ 20,000 – ₹ 250,00 CTC

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

• Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and assemblies according to inspection plans.
• Verify materials against drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM, rejection rate, and on-time corrective actions.
• Support supplier audits and qualification activities.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Coordinate disposition (accept, reject, rework, or return to supplier).
• Maintain incoming inspection records.
• Prepare inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Ensure traceability of inspected materials.
• Use measuring instruments such as:
• Vernier Caliper
• Micrometer
• Height Gauge
• Dial Indicator
• CMM (if applicable)
• Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated.
• Follow ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (automotive), or customer-specific quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with inspection procedures and work instructions.
• Analyze defect trends.
• Reduce incoming rejection rates.

Key Skills Required

• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems
• Good communication and report-writing skills
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality reporting
• Incoming rejection rate (%)
• Supplier PPM (Parts Per Million)
• Supplier on-time corrective action closure
• Incoming inspection turnaround time
• Cost of poor quality (COPQ)
• Supplier quality rating
• First-pass acceptance rate
