Job Description
In this position as a Senior Working Capital Fund Accountant, you will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on expertise supporting complex Department of Defense (DoD) financial operations. You will lead high-visibility initiatives focused on Working Capital Fund (WCF) accounting, financial reporting, and audit readiness. In this position, you will also:
- Lead and execute complex financial management projects, coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Analyze complex financial and operational challenges, develop solutions, and implement corrective action plans
- Collaborate with multi-service and multi-agency stakeholders to drive alignment and decision-making
- Provide expert guidance to government and corporate leadership on WCF accounting and financial management
- Facilitate working groups and discussions to address findings and improve financial processes
- Support audit readiness efforts and remediation activities to resolve audit findings
- Contribute to client deliverables by providing strategic insights and integrated business solutions
- Represent the organization through participation in conferences, peer reviews, and professional publications
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in federal financial management, accounting, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting DoD Working Capital Fund operations, accounting, and budgeting.
- 3+ years of experience working with federal accounting standards including SFFAS, OMB Circular A-11, and OMB Circular A-136.
- An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license issued by an accredited State Board of Accountancy.

- Experience with DDRS or other financial reporting systems that feed into DDRS.
- Experience performing advanced financial statement analysis and compilation within DoD environments.
- Ability to analyze financial data from source systems and identify trends, discrepancies, and risks.
- Experience supporting audit activities, including remediation and prevention of audit findings.
- Strong experience reviewing journal vouchers, performing root cause analysis, and improving internal controls.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with federal financial management regulations and reporting standards.
