Role Overview:
As an MS SQL Database Administrator and SQL Developer at our company, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our logistics technology infrastructure. Your role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our databases and business-critical applications. You will work with large volumes of operational data related to logistics workflows and data dependencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Administration (MS SQL Server)
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances including high availability, disaster recovery, backups, and clustering.
- Monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize indexes for real-time logistics applications.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and security policies to maintain data integrity and compliance.
- Ensure database uptime and reliability across operational environments.
- Develop and manage backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and data archival policies.
- Schedule and manage SQL Server Agent jobs, replication, and linked servers.
- SQL Development
- Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions.
- Collaborate with software developers to create data-driven backend components for various operations.
- Design and maintain ETL processes for data integration from different sources.
- Generate operational and financial reports for performance analysis.
- Logistics-Specific Data Management
- Develop and maintain data models tailored for logistics operations.
- Implement logic for cost allocation, billing, and data aggregation.
- Manage geospatial data for analytics and optimization.
- Assist in implementing audit trails, exception logging, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support data requirements for BI tools, dashboards, and applications.
- Participate in code reviews, data architecture discussions, and system integration planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 68 years in MS SQL DBA and SQL development roles, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain domains.
