The Role
BeyondTrust is seeking a Software Development Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of core platform services that support multiple product lines. As part of the Platform Core Services team, you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and reliable services, including authentication & authorization (AuthN/AuthZ), onboarding, RBAC, reporting, auditing, notifications, and platform APIs. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to grow their expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence while working in a high-impact, cross-functional environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and Maintain Core Services – Implement and enhance high-quality, scalable microservices that support platform-wide capabilities, ensuring modularity and extensibility.
- Collaborate on System Design & Implementation – Work with senior engineers and product managers to translate requirements into well-structured, maintainable, and testable software solutions.
- Enhance System Reliability & Observability – Contribute to logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using Datadog to ensure visibility and proactive issue resolution.
- Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Automation – Assist in automating cloud infrastructure management using Terraform, Terragrunt, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve Engineering Efficiency – Participate in code reviews, advocate for engineering best practices, and contribute to documentation to ensure team-wide knowledge sharing.
- Support Operational Excellence – Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues, participate in incident response, and propose solutions for long-term stability and scalability.
- Cross-Team Collaboration – Work with product managers, designers, and engineers from other teams to deliver features and platform enhancements that meet business and customer needs.

Nice To Have
- Software Development Experience – experience in software development and delivering cloud-based or distributed systems with an emphasis on scalability and security.
- Proficiency in Modern Programming Languages – Experience with one or more of C#, Go, Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Understanding of Cloud & Infrastructure – Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including cloud-native development principles.
- Infrastructure as Code & DevOps Practices – Basic knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD), and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Operational Awareness – Understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus) and how they support system health.
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to debug, analyze issues, and propose well-structured solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication – Comfortable working with other engineers, product teams, and stakeholders in a cross-functional, agile environment.
