Job Description

Overview

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an Accounting Lead to oversee inventory and cost accounting activities within a multi‑site manufacturing or production environment. As a Lead, you will be working closely with operations and finance partners to align production data, inventory movements, and financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory and cost accounting processes, including valuation, costing, and reconciliations
  • Lead month‑end close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold
  • Analyze cost and usage variances and partner cross‑functionally to explain results
  • Maintain documentation and internal controls in a compliance‑driven environment
  • Support audits and inventory counts across multiple locations
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to inventory accounting and reporting
  • Lead, coach, and develop inventory or cost accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory or cost accounting
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production‑oriented environment
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and internal control skills
  • ERP system experience required; advanced Excel skills preferred
  • CPA or similar certification a plus
