Job Description
Join us as an Automation Test Analyst at Barclays, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will be defining and building robust, modular, and reusable Automation frameworks and retain accountability for ensuring all Test Automation Analysts understand and adhere to the framework. Driving automation in a pro-active mode than reactive. You will be ensuring that automation pack is updated in parallel to the development lifecycle so that the same can be executed at the time of the release made available on test env for test execution. Actively contribute to DevOps agenda forward from automation point.
To be successful as an Automation Test Analyst you should have:
- Automate using agreed / standard automation framework (Java/Selenium/Cucumber/BDD/Python/RDBMS).
- Take complete ownership of assigned user stories i.e., understanding, collaborating with BAs / POs / Architects, scripting and executing within the sprint cycle.
- Ensure the documents like test cases, auto scripts, detailed status reports, test completion reports are prepared by the team and necessary signoffs have been obtained.
- Ensure active participation in daily scrum calls, provide updates, and raise impediments timely.
- Good working experience in Java / Python, Selenium / Cucumber BDD/Gherkin.
- Excellent SQL / Unix / Linux skills.
- Excellent in Restful / Json / xml Protocol.

Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues. .
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
- Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
