Occupational Therapist - Full Time Permanent

This full-time position involves working 37.5 hours per week as an Occupational Therapist (OT). You will be working with a Physiotherapist, Physiotherapy Assistant, and Health Promoter at our 5,600 sq. ft. gym facility which includes a hydrotherapy pool. You will also be working collaboratively with physicians and other FHT Allied Health Professionals within the BCFHT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ needs and create tailored therapy plans
• Delivering therapeutic interventions to improve functional abilities
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatments as needed
• Educate patients and their families about strategies to foster independence
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care
• Contribute to program planning and development of new patient programs
• Maintain standards of knowledge, skills, and participate in continuing education

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience working in a primary care setting is considered an asset
• Flexibility to respond to a fluctuating workload and changing environment
• Knowledge and sensitivity of the social determinants of health in our rural region
• Proficiency in the use of electronic health records
• Motivated professional who can work with minimal supervision
