Location: Remote — Must be based outside the USA

About Bad Twin Capital

Bad Twin Capital is a boutique investment banking and capital markets advisory firm headquartered in Vancouver, BC. We provide capital raising, M&A advisory, and specialized financing solutions to growth-stage companies, funds, and real estate sponsors, connecting them to family offices, institutional investors, and qualified private capital sources across North America.

Our team combines institutional-grade execution with the speed, focus, and creativity of a boutique — running cross-border mandates spanning equity raises, structured debt, sell-side and buy-side M&A, and bespoke financing structures.

The Role

We're hiring a Mandate Origination Associate to close new client engagements for BTC. This is a 100% commission, high-velocity, closing-focused role for someone who excels at consultative B2B sales and can confidently sit across from founders, CEOs, CFOs, and fund managers.

You'll be selling BTC's investment banking services — capital raising, M&A advisory, and specialized financing — to growth-stage companies, private funds, and real estate sponsors looking to hire an investment bank for a transaction.

Your calendar will be pre-filled with sales calls. Qualified meetings are booked directly into your calendar — typically ~50 per week. Your job is to show up, run a great discovery call, qualify the opportunity, and close the engagement letter.

You'll report to our Director of Origination and work alongside the deal team. Once an engagement is signed, the deal team takes over execution — you stay focused on closing the next mandate.

This role is ideal for a top-performing closer who wants to elevate from selling SaaS, financial services, or professional services into the world of investment banking — or for someone with prior experience selling consultative, high-ticket B2B services to executives and business owners.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Qualification

  • Run sales calls with founders, CEOs, CFOs, and fund managers exploring whether BTC is the right banker for their transaction
  • Quickly assess fit: capital need, deal stage, valuation expectations, timing, and probability of close
  • Qualify in or qualify out — protect the deal team's bandwidth by only advancing real opportunities

Closing

  • Move qualified prospects from first call → engagement letter
  • Present BTC's services, process, and fee structure with confidence
  • Negotiate retainer terms within firm-approved guardrails and close engagement letters

Pipeline Management

  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene across every meeting taken
  • Provide weekly updates on activity, conversion, and forecasted closes
  • Hand off signed engagements cleanly to the deal team for execution

Collaboration & Feedback

  • Partner with the Director of Origination on positioning, messaging, and objection handling
  • Provide market feedback to refine our targeting, scripts, and outbound campaigns
  • Share insight on the kinds of mandates that close and where our pitch needs sharpening

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be based outside the United States
  • 3+ years of experience in consultative B2B sales, with a track record of closing high-ticket engagements ($10K+ deal sizes)
  • Experience selling to executives, business owners, founders, or fund managers
  • Sophisticated written and verbal communication — you can hold your own with a CEO, CFO, or fund manager on a discovery call
  • Self-directed, organized, and metrics-driven
  • Comfortable working a 100% commission compensation structure

Strongly Preferred

  • Background in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, M&A advisory, commercial banking, or wealth management
  • Prior experience selling professional services, advisory, or consulting engagements
  • Familiarity with capital raising, M&A processes, or corporate finance
  • Experience with modern CRM and sales workflow tools

Why Join Us

  • Pure closing role. No prospecting, no list-building, no cold calls. Your calendar is pre-filled with qualified meetings — your job is to close
  • Warm meetings only. ~50 booked meetings per week delivered straight to your calendar
  • High-ticket closes. Every signed engagement is meaningful revenue — no tiny transactions, no bottom-of-the-funnel grind
  • Direct deal exposure. Work alongside our Director of Origination and Managing Partner; learn the investment banking world from the inside
  • Build, don't inherit. Help shape our origination playbook and grow alongside the firm
  • Remote-first culture. Work from anywhere in Canada

Compensation

This is a 100% commission role with uncapped earnings, plus team and firm-level performance bonuses.

Base Commission

You'll earn 15% of every retainer fee on every engagement letter you close. Engagements typically range from $20,000 – $30,000 USD, paying $3,000 – $4,500 USD per close.

Realistic earnings model based on current performance benchmarks:

  • ~40 qualified meetings booked per week (delivered to your calendar)
  • ~80% show rate
  • ~2% close rate on attended meetings
  • ~1–4 closes per month

Expected monthly commission: $5,500 – $24,500 CAD, plus bonuses.

Expected annual commission: $60,000 – $295,000+ CAD, plus bonuses

Performance Bonuses

In addition to base commission, you'll be eligible for:

  • Sales team performance bonuses — paid when the origination team collectively hits or exceeds quarterly targets
  • Firm-level performance bonuses — paid based on overall firm performance, including success-fee revenue from closed mandates that originated through the sales team

These bonuses are designed to reward both individual contributions and the collective wins that build BTC for the long term.

There is no cap on the number of engagements you can close, no cap on income, and no clawback on retainer-based commissions.

How to Apply

Submit your resume along with a brief note describing:

  • The most complex / highest-ticket sale you've closed and what made it work
  • Why a 100% commission, closing-focused role appeals to you at this stage of your career

Pay: $60,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
