Athabasca University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is recruiting to the position of Academic Coordinator, History.
This is a part-time (0.2FTE) term position ending December 30, 2026.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest Faculty in Athabasca University and offers a wide range of online courses and programs in the areas of education, humanities, interdisciplinary studies, and social sciences.

Position
The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the teaching, administration and maintenance of Athabasca University's History Courses.
Other Coordinator duties include supervising and monitoring the performance of course tutors (who teach and mark student assignments), the handling of student issues as they are brought forward by students, tutors, or the institution (e.g.
grade appeals, course credit challenges, academic misconduct cases, transfer credit requests), and service to the Centre for Humanities (e.g.
attending meetings held by the Centre and by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences).
Qualifications
Athabasca University is hiring an academic coordinator with expertise in Canadian History 1867 to present.
A minimum of a Master's degree in History is required; a PhD is preferred.
Experience in distance and online learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies would also be preferred assets.
