Job description

Step into a career with ASM, where cutting edge technology meets collaborative culture.

For over 55 years ASM has been ahead of what’s next, at the forefront of innovation and what’s technologically possible. With more than 4,500 ASMers representing 70 nationalities, our people and our advanced semiconductor devices are playing a crucial role in trends such as 5G, cloud computing, AI, and autonomous driving.  But we’re more than just a tech company. We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world.  Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential.

As a Technical Product Support (TPS) Engineer at ASM, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation—partnering directly with customers and engineering teams to bring cutting‑edge products from development into high‑volume manufacturing. You’ll become a system‑level expert on new products, playing a critical role in design, testing, and early customer adoption.

This is a highly hands‑on, customer‑facing role ideal for engineers who love solving complex problems, working with new technology, and seeing their work come to life in real fabs around the world. Domestic and international travel (25–75%) is expected and varies by product lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate closely with Hardware, Electrical, Controls, Process, and Software Engineering teams to become the system‑level expert on newly developed products
  • Influence product design by representing the voice of the customer, including design‑for‑service, design‑for‑manufacturability, and preventive maintenance considerations
  • Own the first build and test of new products in the development lab, providing real‑time feedback, identifying issues, and recommending solutions
  • Develop and document best‑known methods for service, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance
  • Lead First‑in‑Fab (Alpha and Beta) customer deployments, including fab readiness, installation, startup, and production qualification
  • Drive resolution of customer issues during Alpha and Beta phases, acting as the primary technical owner for new product performance in the field
  • Produce detailed reporting on field issues to support continuous product improvement
  • Define critical spare parts lists and ensure initial stocking levels are ready for new product launches

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • Hands‑on experience (academic or professional) with hardware systems
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • High curiosity, motivation, and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
  • A passion for working with new products, testing them, and becoming a true system‑level expert
  • Coursework or interest in Arduino or open‑source electronic prototyping platforms is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25–75% domestically and internationally

Apply today to be part of what’s next.

We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world. We do this with an eye to the future, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through cutting-edge innovation, and driving the next wave of technological breakthroughs that shape how we live, work, and connect.
