About the Role

INTECON is seeking Editors to support the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Staff Action Support Services contract. Editors provide editorial review of executive correspondence for the NGB Executive Secretariat and the Air National Guard Executive Secretariat and Staff Action Control Office (SACO). The successful candidate will assess documents for clarity, readability, grammar, regulatory standards, and content flow, annotate using the Microsoft Word track changes feature, and communicate findings and recommended editorial changes to the Staff Action Control Officer within three business days.

Responsibilities

• Assess documents for clarity, readability, grammar, regulatory standards, and content flow; annotate using the Microsoft Word track changes feature
• Identify the proper use of military style writing, including acronyms, wordiness, run-on sentences, appropriate sentence and paragraph length, passive voice, document formatting, use of first-person pronouns, and incorrect grammar
• Review, analyze, clarify, and recommend revision of staffing packages
• Review and edit correspondence and annotate grammatical, structural, and formatting corrections
• Communicate findings and recommended editorial changes to the SACO within three business days
• Conduct research to verify regulatory citations and source accuracy
• Provide editorial and executive support to ANG ExecSec/SACO functions, including meeting and organizational support
• Support Executive Level Writing course materials and Action Officer training

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance
• U.S. citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in writing, editing, and research demonstrated by positions held in editorial career fields
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Word track changes feature
• Experience editing to Air Force or Army writing standards
• Prior secretariat, Secretary of the General Staff, or executive office support experience
• Experience with electronic task management systems (ETS, ETMS2, TMT)
