About the PR and Communications Team:
The PR andCommunications team at Ashoka University is responsible for managing theinstitutions profile, reputation, media presence, brand identity, digitalplatforms, and external engagement. The team leverages multiple communicationchannels to ensure that accurate and timely information about the University iseffectively shared with key audiences.
In addition to externalcommunications, the team also supports internal communications, outreachinitiatives, and key institutional events. With a 360-degree view of theUniversitys activities, the team works closely with academic andadministrative units, centres, and external stakeholders to strengthen Ashokasvisibility, credibility, and engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The role of Deputy Manager Communicationsis integral to the functioning of the PR and Communications team. Theindividual should possess strong communication and coordination skills tomanage internal expectations effectively while keeping Ashoka Universitysvision, mission, and brand ethos at the forefront.
This is a dynamic role with opportunities to learn,contribute, and grow across multiple areas of communications.
Key responsibilities include:-
- Curating and developing content in both short and long formats, including blogs, feature articles, interviews, and opinion pieces for Ashoka Universitys various social assets and monthly newsletter Ashoka Reflections.
- Strategising, planning, and producing the Universitys internal newsletter on a monthly basis for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to write scripts for A/V, caption/headline writing, and SEO writing. Understanding of employer brand communication.
- Liaising with various departments, centres, faculty, and administrative teams to gather content and ensure effective internal communication.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders across the University to support communication initiatives.
- Supporting content planning and communication strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent command of English , with strong writing, editing, and verbalcommunication skills.
- Ability to think strategically about content andcommunication while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to managemultiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under tight timelines.
- A collaborative team player who works well withdiverse teams and stakeholders across the University.
