Job Description

Key Objectives of the Job

  • Strengthen Arpan’s media presence through strategic PR and journalist engagement
  • Drive high-quality, impactful content across long and short formats
  • Build and nurture meaningful partnerships with media, brands, and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to campaigns and events that enhance visibility and engagement
  • Position Arpan as a credible and consistent voice in the social impact ecosystem

Major Deliverables

Core Responsibilities

Media & PR

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media houses
  • Pitch stories, secure coverage, and manage media interactions
  • Write press releases, articles, and op-eds
  • Track, analyse, and report media coverage

Content & Storytelling

  • Develop high-quality content across formats (long-form and short-form)
  • Create compelling narratives around mental health, education, and Arpan’s work
  • Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and brand voice across platforms
  • Support leadership and campaigns with strong written communication

Campaigns & Events

  • Plan and execute campaigns, events, and media activations
  • Leverage events for visibility and partnerships

Support Responsibilities

  • Partnerships & Outreach
  • Support identification and onboarding of strategic partners
  • Assist in managing and nurturing partnerships
  • Contribute to collaboration efforts aligned with organisational goals

Job Challenge

Navigate complex and sensitive communications on CSA while balancing multiple priorities and working within budget constraints.

Specialised job competencies

  • Media & PR Expertise: Strong understanding of media landscape, journalist engagement, and PR strategies
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and sustain rapport with journalists and partners
  • Content Excellence: Strong flair in writing with the ability to create compelling long-form and short-form content.
  • Event Management: Experience in handling events, media interactions, and activations
  • Digital Awareness: Basic understanding of social media and digital amplification
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, ownership, adaptability, and creativity

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Mass Media, or a related field.

Desired Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in communications, PR, digital media, or related domains.
  • Prior experience working in a PR agency is preferred

Other desired attributes

Prior experience of working in the social impact space is desirable but not a must.

Strong interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders, including media, NGOs, government agencies, and internal teams.

Location: Mumbai

Salary range

Rs. 35,000 - Rs. 50,000 per month (based on experience) + Rs. 5000 Travel Reimbursement + Rs. 2000 Therapeutic Reimbursement + Rs. 5000 Annual Training Reimbursement
