Quality Engineer-in-Training

Reporting to the Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager, the Quality Engineer-In-Training (EIT) ensures product excellence by implementing quality processes, working with production teams to solve issues, monitoring critical processes, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to QA Inspectors & CNC Operators on containment, inspections, quality procedures and tools to monitor critical processes.
• Provide quality planning, control, and continuous improvement support to the Product Development and Operations teams.
• Represent quality during new product development implementation phases. Facilitate and/or participate in product onboarding discussions as required.
• Report on the defined quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Analyze system data & KPI’s to facilitate quality-related discussions with internal and external customers & suppliers to drive corrective action.
• Lead Corrective Action Report (CAR) teams to drive corrective action on identified issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical discipline preferred).
• 1 or more years of related experience in quality or manufacturing engineering in a design/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• A hands-on mentality and ability to lead with minimal supervision to robustly solve quality issues.
• Understanding of the execution of quality tools such as Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis.
• Adaptability to effectively change priorities to meet business objectives.
• ISO auditor certification is an asset.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• 50% office environment with extended sitting & computer use, 50% manufacturing shop floor environment with extended standing.
• Working while wearing personal protective equipment when in the plant
