Job Description
The
Assistant General Manager – Copywriter
will be responsible for leading brand communication, content strategy, and high-impact copy development across digital, print, campaign, corporate, and sales communication channels. The role requires a strong storyteller who can translate business goals into compelling messaging, maintain brand consistency, and guide creative communication across multiple campaigns and stakeholder groups.
This role is ideal for a senior copy professional with strong conceptual thinking, excellent command over language, and experience managing brand narratives across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Content Strategy
- Develop and own the brand tone of voice across all communication channels.
- Create messaging frameworks for campaigns, launches, events, and corporate communications.
- Translate marketing and business objectives into clear, persuasive, and audience-relevant copy.
- Ensure consistency in brand language across digital, offline, internal, and external communication.
Copywriting & Creative Development
- Write and edit copy for advertising campaigns, brochures, websites, landing pages, emailers, social media, sales collaterals, video scripts, presentations, and PR-led communication.
- Conceptualize campaign ideas in collaboration with design, digital, product, and marketing teams.
- Develop headlines, taglines, long-form content, short-form content, and conversion-focused copy.
- Create communication for product launches, events, customer engagement, employer branding, and corporate initiatives.
Campaign & Digital Communication
- Support integrated marketing campaigns across online and offline platforms.
- Write performance-oriented copy for digital ads, SEO pages, email campaigns, WhatsApp communication, and lead-generation campaigns.
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams to optimize content for engagement, conversion, and brand recall.
- Adapt messaging for different audiences, customer segments, and business priorities.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior copywriters, content writers, and external agencies, where applicable.
- Work closely with senior leadership, sales, product, design, HR, and business teams to understand communication requirements.
- Manage multiple projects with tight timelines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Present creative ideas and campaign concepts to internal stakeholders.
Quality Control & Governance
- Proofread, edit, and refine all content to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
- Maintain content calendars, campaign messaging documents, and brand communication guidelines.
- Ensure all communication complies with brand, legal, and regulatory standards where applicable.
- Track content effectiveness and use insights to improve future communication.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience
in copywriting, content strategy, advertising, brand communication, or creative communication.
- Prior experience in a senior copywriting or creative leadership role is preferred.
- Experience in industries such as real estate, luxury, retail, education, hospitality, BFSI, consumer brands, or advertising agencies would be an advantage.
