ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a top provider of quality construction building materials in the United States, is seeking dedicated candidates for our 3rd Shift General Laborer position to support operations at our Quarry in Rockville, MD, from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. In this role, you will engage in various labor tasks at our aggregate quarry, including safe operation of power tools, assisting with equipment maintenance, and performing minor mechanical or electrical repairs, all while working in a challenging outdoor environment. We are looking for reliable, safety-oriented individuals with a background in industrial or construction work who possess physical fitness and mechanical skills.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Maintain a clean and safe work area by shoveling, sweeping, and removing debris from the plant and quarry.
• Utilize power tools (grinders, drills, saws) effectively and safely.
• Apply your mechanical skills to troubleshoot and conduct basic equipment repairs.
• Assist with basic electrical tasks, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Gain additional experience working with heavy machinery such as loaders, crushers, and conveyors.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard awareness.
• Exhibit a strong work ethic, following instructions and collaborating well in teams.
• Show initiative in problem-solving and attention to detail in operations and maintenance tasks.
• Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental policies while fostering a culture of safety.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience working in outdoor or industrial settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with power tools (drills, grinders, saws) and eagerness to learn new equipment.
• A mechanical aptitude with an interest in maintenance and repairs.
• A basic understanding of electrical systems and willingness to learn on the job.
• Background in construction or industrial environments is advantageous.
• Ability to carry out physical labor and work in varying outdoor conditions.
• A strong commitment to safety and adherence to site procedures.
• Reliability and a team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.
• Comfort in working around heavy machinery; training will be provided.

Additional Requirements

• Successful candidates must follow all safety protocols and use Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Employees required to wear respirators must ensure cleanliness for proper fit testing.
