Field Operations & Construction Supervisor

Amrita Dravya Foundation (ADF), a Section 8 nonprofit working in rural development, is hiring a Field Operations & Construction Supervisor for its ongoing construction work at Bhalbamora village. This is a hands-on, ground-level role for someone who can oversee construction on site and handle related field and office duties.

Duration & payment: This is a fixed-term position for the duration of the construction work — approximately 3 to 5 months, depending on completion. Payment is on a per-day basis (for days worked).

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day civil/construction works on site — checking quality, material, and progress
• Coordinate and oversee labor on site
• Monitor work against plans and report progress regularly
• Handle related field and office duties — record-keeping, documentation, and basic reporting
• Assist with purchasing — material sourcing and vendor coordination as needed
• Act as ADF's local point of contact at the site

You should have:

• A rural background and comfort working in a village setting
• Experience in construction/civil site supervision
• A background in civil works (Civil Engineering Diploma, ITI in a construction trade — e.g. Draughtsman Civil/Surveyor — or proven site supervision experience) preferred
• Ability to read basic site plans and track material, quality, and progress
• Working knowledge of computers and a smartphone with internet
• Driving experience (two-wheeler/four-wheeler)
• Organized and reliable, able to handle administrative tasks independently
• 12th pass minimum; civil diploma/ITI an advantage
• Hindi fluency and the ability to work well with local workers and villagers
