Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Psychology will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful research, and contributing to academic administration. The role requires active engagement in curriculum development, student mentoring, and institutional service aligned with the academic standards and vision of Amity University Hyderabad.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Psychology (e.g., Cognitive Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology, Research Methods).
- Develop lesson plans, course materials, and assessment tools.
- Use innovative and technology-enabled teaching methods.
Research & Publications
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in specialized areas of Psychology.
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals (Scopus/UGC CARE indexed).
- Apply for research grants and participate in funded projects.
Student Engagement & Mentoring
- Guide student projects, dissertations, and internships.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship.
- Support students in career development and higher studies.
Academic Administration
- Participate in curriculum design and program development.
- Contribute to accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, etc.).
- Engage in departmental and university-level committees.
Industry & Community Engagement
- Build collaborations with industry, hospitals, NGOs, and research organizations.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Psychology (mandatory)
- NET/SET qualification preferred (as applicable).
Experience
- 0–5 years of teaching/research experience (fresh Ph.D. candidates may apply).
- Strong publication record preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong subject knowledge in core areas of Psychology.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Research and analytical abilities.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students.
- Familiarity with statistical tools (SPSS, R, etc.) is desirable.
