Job Title: Jr. Chemist – Quality Assurance
Job Summary
The Sr. Chemist/Chemist – Quality is responsible for the inspection, sampling, analysis, and documentation of Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Products to ensure compliance with regulatory and company quality standards. This role supports quality assurance activities across the production cycle, including calibration, food safety compliance, and sample management, and is authorized to intervene in production processes to uphold product quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
Raw Material (RM) & Packaging Material (PM) Quality Assurance:
Perform goods receiving inspection and quality evaluation of RM & PM.
Conduct sampling and sample preparation for RM; perform physical checks (color, odor, foreign matter, infestation, etc.) and moisture analysis.
Analyze RM for parameters such as:
Moisture, Total Fat, Total Ash
Alcoholic Acidity, Acid Insoluble Ash
Sensory Analysis, Bulk Density, Enzyme Activity, Soup Test
Prepare detailed RM analysis reports.
Conduct PM sampling and inspection for:
Dimensions (Length, Width, Height), Weight
Artwork, GSM, Thickness
Bond Strength, Seal Strength, Delimitation Test
Stapling Arrangement, Moisture Content
Finished Product (FP) Quality Assurance:
Conduct finished product sampling, preparation, and counter sample storage.
Analyze finished goods to ensure compliance with FSSAI and internal standards (Moisture, Fat, Ash, Acidity, Sensory, etc.).
Prepare and maintain FP analysis reports.
Perform periodic control sample analysis and documentation.
Calibration & Compliance:
Responsible for internal calibration of lab instruments, weighing scales, and glassware.
Ensure and verify CCP (Critical Control Points) and OPRP (Operational Prerequisite Program) compliance.
Verify sampling activities performed by QA Officers.
Monitor and record food defense and food fraud mitigation activities.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain laboratory hygiene, equipment care, and accurate documentation.
Act as the QA in-charge in the absence of the QA Chemist.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure quality integration at every stage.
Authorities:
Authorized to start the production line under the instruction of the Quality Manager/Assistant Manager.
Authorized to stop the line in case of:
Quality parameter deviations
Food safety threats
Operational troubles or hygiene issues (with guidance)
Authorized to quarantine non-conforming RM, PM, or finished products under direction from Quality leadership.
Authorized to stop processes due to unhygienic conditions with prior communication to Quality Manager/Assistant Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
Experience: 2–5 years in food or FMCG quality assurance
Certifications: FSSAI awareness, HACCP, GMP (preferred), FSSC 22000:2018, NABL
Strong understanding of analytical methods and regulatory compliance
Experience working with laboratory equipment and documentation standards
Key Skills:
Analytical and detail-oriented mindset
Knowledge of FSSAI, GMP, and food safety management systems
Familiarity with lab instrumentation and calibration
Report writing and documentation accuracy
Team collaboration and communication
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
