Summary:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) is a student staff member in the DC Community Impact Scholars Program. The TA fulfills a vital role by helping students synthesize learning experiences from both inside and outside of the classroom. The primary function of the TA is to work with both faculty and students to facilitate integrated learning experiences in the classroom and in Washington, DC.
The TA reports to Impact Scholars Faculty and the Assistant Director of Honors and Scholar Programs and is expected to work closely with the faculty member teaching their Community-Based Research (IDIS-341 or IDIS-342) course, Program staff, and other staff members across campus. Emphasis is placed on the concept that the TA is an active and integral staff member within the total campus community.
Essential Functions:
Help students synthesize learning experiences from both inside and outside of the classroom.
Work with both faculty and students to facilitate integrated learning experiences in the classroom and in Washington, DC.
Other duties assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
7 - 10 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$18.40 per hour.
