Job Description

Working on the Department of War critical technology areas offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment at the forefront of advancing national defense capabilities in areas such as Quantum and Battlefield Information Dominance, Applied AI, Biomanufacturing, and more. Your role will involve close interaction with senior DoW leaders and stakeholders across the RDT&E community. You will have the opportunity to contribute to decision-making processes impacting the Department’s most critical modernization efforts. This project requires a high level of professionalism and a commitment to shaping the future of national security capabilities.
As an Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Subject Matter Expert for Quantum and Battlefield Information Dominance, you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Support the office of the Principal Director (PD) for Quantum and Battlefield Information Dominance (Q-BID) within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering as a subject matter expert in Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) and Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies.
- Advise the Principal Director on the strategic direction for the Q-BID technology portfolio and develop relevant products.
- Develop a technology roadmap to outline future Q-BID developments for DoW in consultation with the PD and develop relevant products.
- Assist in outreach to the RDT&E community to enable technology sprints including other U.S. Government, industry, academia, and international partners.
- Analyze and track Q-BID programs across DoW; assist in technical evaluation of programs; assist in development of requirements.
- Assist with and prepare presentations, reports, and other business products as directed by the PD.
Requirements
- Prior experience with the DoW RDT&E community is required; applied experience with EMSO/EW/RF operations is required; prior experience with strategic planning for technology development is preferred.
- Must have a current and active DoW Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility within the last 24 months; previous SAP clearance is highly preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
- PhD in a relevant STEM discipline and 7 years of applicable experience or M.S. and 14 years of experience.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. - USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
