Job Summary

Support the operations team by leading the renewable site to assure the facility operates in accordance with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and standards while achieving maximum performance, reliability, and profitability.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of renewable generation equipment to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations.
Assist in coordinating and performing duties related to OEM and contractor oversight, equipment inspections, monitoring, and repairs, including operation and maintenance of solar PV collection assemblies, battery energy storage, AD/DC inverters on multiple solar power plants, and other renewable generation equipment.

Job Description

What You'll Have:

  • Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for which they are qualified to perform for equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Provides balance of plant activities including inspections, maintenance and repair of both equipment and roads.

  • Assists with site vegetation mitigation plans including running tractors, riding mowers, and other vegetation maintenance equipment.

  • Assist in using elementary, schematic, wiring and control diagrams to locate, troubleshoot and repair control systems involving electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.

  • Initiate clearance permits/LOTO, isolate equipment and remove all stored energy in accordance with procedure. Initiate permits in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Assist in counting/finding warehouse inventory and parts.

  • Use computer applications and software programs to extract data, analyze trends and report status to ensure plant reliability and efficiency. Produce, revise, and maintain records, technical reports, procedures, and plant drawings.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required.

  • Associate degree in related technical field (e.g., electronics, engineering technology) or equivalent Journeyman qualifications is desired.

  • Four years of experience in the renewable industry working as a technician or related work experience or 10 years related work experience in power plant generation (electrical maintenance, I&C controls) plus 2 years supervisory experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Electrical experience working on/near various voltages ranging from 24V to 34.5kV and working knowledge of voltages above 34.5kV recommended.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory application

  • Valid Driver's License

What You'll Get:

Base Salary from $35/hr-$50/hr.

$35.84 - $52.67

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.   Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
