Job Description
DESCRIPTION
Amazon's checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology. It automatically detects when products are taken from or returned from shelves. When you’re done shopping, you just leave the store. Our technology uses computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. Innovation is part of our DNA. We need people who want to join a high-reaching program that continues to push the state of the art in novel customer experiences, ubiquitous computing, computer vision, machine learning, distributed systems, and industrial design.
As a UX Designer for Just Walk Out Technology, you will join an entrepreneurial team to solve challenges that have likely never been addressed by anyone before. User Experience in this space spans customer-facing digital experiences that adapt to physical store environments, mobile apps, corporate applications, and associate tools.
Key job responsibilities
You will work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company. As a designer on this team you will work with product, research, software, operations, and business teams to create experiences with a direct impact to customers. You will also collaborate closely with other design disciplines including industrial design, store design, and UX in partner teams.
A day in the life
You might start your day meeting with your customers. This might be shoppers in a stadium, in-store associates, or members of corporate operations. Observing behavior, sharing ideas, or running usability evaluations.
You'll take your insights and synthesize them into new ideas that may influence larger new strategies, or incremental improvements to our products. You'll work with product and engineering teams to align on feasibility and viability, advocating for what bests meets user needs.
Building mockups, prototypes, or preparing finalized designs for engineering teams.
